To unlock cheats in Red Dead Redemption 2 you are required to purchase Newspapers from Newspaper Vendors, while many other cheats are unlocked as you progress the story of the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Cheat Codes Guide
Below we will list how you can unlock cheats, where you can find them, followed by the description of each cheat that is available in the game.
Newspaper Vendors are found in most major towns which are:
- Valentine
- Strawberry
- Rhodes
- Blackwater
- Annesburg
Each of these towns has their own versions of Newspapers that will unlock specific cheats, this is why you must acquire all of them to unlock all of the cheats. It is also worth mentioning that activating cheats will disable your saved game progress and disable trophies as well. To activate cheats when you just want to have fun with them.

As mentioned, there are 33 cheats in the game. We have listed the ones we have found, with the rest being added later into this list.
Cheat # 1 – Keep your Dreams Simple
This cheat is named “Create Wagon”, and it allows you to spawn a Wagon with one horse.
Cheat # 2 – I Shall Be Better
This cheat is named “Set Health, Stamina and Dead Eye Bars to Full”. The cheat refills all bars for stamina, Dead Eye, and health.
Cheat # 3 – I Seek and I Find
This cheat is named “Set Dead Eye Level 5”, and it allows you to set your Dead Eye skill level to Rank 5.
Cheat # 4 – Better Than My Dog
This cheat is named “Increase Horse Whistle Range”, and it allows you to call your horse from any distance.
Cheat # 5 – Run! Run! Run!
This cheat is named “Create Race Horse”, and allow you to Spawn a Race Horse.
Cheat # 6 – A Fool on Command
This cheat is named “Drunk”, and instantly makes you drunk.
Cheat # 7 – Abundance is the Dullest Desire
This cheat is named “Infinite Ammo”, and can be bought as a Newspaper: New Hanover Gazette No.27 from the merchant in New Hanover. This cheat allows you to have infinite ammo supply.
Cheat # 8 – Greed is American Virtue
The cheat is named “Heavy Weapons”, and adds Bolt Action rifle, Pump Action Shotgun, Mauser Pistol and Semi-Automatic Pistol to your inventory.
Cheat # 9 – You Long for Sight But See Nothing
This cheat is named “Fog of War”, and reveals the full map.
Cheat # 10 – You Seek More Than the World Offers
This cheat is named “Fortify Health, Stamina and Dead Eye Bars”, and refill and fortifies all of your bars.
Cheat # 11 – You are a Beast Built For War
This cheat is named “War Horse”, and spawns a War Horse for you.
Cheat # 12 – Virtue Unearned is Not Virtue
This cheat is named “ High Honor”, and raises your Honor Rating.
Cheat # 13 – Would You Be Happier as a Clown?
This cheat is named “Create Circus Wagon”, and spawns a Circus Wagon for you.
Cheat # 14 – A Simple Life, a Beautiful Death
This cheat is named “Simple Weapons” and will grant a loadout of basic weapons for you.
Cheat # 15 – Death is Silence
This cheat is named” Stealth Weapons” and will grant you a loadout of stealth weaponry like Throwing/Improved/Poison Knives, Machete, Tomahawks.
Cheat # 16 – History is Written By Fools
This cheat is named “Gunslinger Weapons” and will grant you a loadout of Gunslinger weapons like the Off-hand Holster, Double Action Revolver, Schofield Revolver, Double-Barreled Shotgun.
Cheat # 17 – Greed is Now a Virtue
This cheat is named “Add $500” and will give you $500.
Cheat # 18 – Vanity. All is Vanity
This cheat is named “Own All Outfits” and will unlock all outfits in Arthur’s wardrobe.
Cheat # 19 – Eat of Knowledge
This cheat is named “Learn All Recipes” where you will be able to learn all craftable recipes.
Cheat # 20 – Share
This cheat is named “Purchase All Camp Upgrades” and will unlock all ledger upgrades and increases max supply.
Cheat # 21 – You Revel in Your Disgrace, I See
This cheat is named “Decrease Honor” and will decrease your Honor level to the minimum amount.
Cheat # 22 – Balance. All is Balance
This cheat is named “Reset Honor” and will reset your Honor to the neutral level.
Cheat # 23 – Be Greedy Only for Foresight
This cheat is named “Infinite DeadEye” and will give you unlimited DeadEye reserve.
Cheat # 24 – The Lucky be Strong Evermore
This cheat is named “Infinite Stamina” and will give you unlimited stamina reserve.
Cheat # 25 – Guide Me Better
This cheat is named “Set DeadEye Level 1” and will allow you to auto-paint targets in DeadEye.
Cheat # 26 – Make Me Better
This cheat is named “Set DeadEye Level 2” and will set your Deadeye Rank level to 2.
Cheat # 27 – I Still Seek More
This cheat is named “Set DeadEye Level 4” and allows you to set your level of DeadEye skill to Rank 4.

This cheat is named “Increase Horse Bonding” and will increase bonding with all owned horses.

This cheat is named “Create Stagecoach” and will spawn a stagecoach for you.
Cheat # 32 – You Want More Than You Have
This cheat is named “Create superior horse” and will spawn a Rose Grey Bay Arabian Horse for you.

This cheat is named “Create Random Horse” and will spawn a horse of randomized breed and coat.

The last cheat, “Clear All Bounties and Lockdown Areas” does not work. The cheat has registered in the cheats menu, but does not remove bounties, and it does not remove the Blackwater lockdown. I still can’t get into Blackwater without dying.
Hi Jesse! To get access to Blackwater, you will need to complete the main story of the game. It can only be accessed without the Bounty after the story. The cheat will work fine for the rest of the game and for Blackwater as well once the main story of the game has been completed. Take it as the Las Venturas area of GTA San Andreas which was only accessible without the wanted level after reaching a certain part of the story.
