In this Red Dead Redemption 2 Poisonous Trail Treasure Location Guide, we will show you everything related to the poisonous trail and its treasure locations that you can go to and collect.
This is one of the toughest treasure trails thanks to its tough to navigate locations. Nonetheless, with our guide, you can go to each of the exact locations to get your treasure map and, eventually, the treasure itself.
The Poisonous Trail is one of the only treasure hunts in the game that has no prior requirements or even hints. It is something that you totally have to discover for yourself. The first map you get begins a hunt for other clue locations in a sequence.
Poisonous Trail Treasure Location Guide – Red Dead Redemption 2
Below we have listed all the locates of the treasure map related to Poisonous Trail, and where you can find them on the map, and how to get there.
Poisonous Trail Treasure Map # 1
The first map can be found near Cairn Lake. Head up to the West Grizzles, and then go southeast from the town of Colter. Enter the Cairn Lake Lodge, where you can get the Trail Map 1 in a lockbox under the bed.
Poisonous Trail Treasure Map # 2
The map will ask you to go to a new location as shown by the illustrated map. We have marked the locations below.
As you can point out in the picture above, the location is in the Lemoyne area of the map. Once you reach the location, look for the Face Rock on the left side of the road as you go northwest of Hill Haven Ranch. The treasure map can be found at the base of the burnt tree stump.
Poisonous Treasure Map # 3
The next treasure map can be found west of the Van Horn Trading Post. Refer to the locations marked on the map below.
Head to the location, and along the road to the river past the train tracks, you will find an abandoned tower that can be climbed. From the tower, you can look down to see a snake shape on the grass, just like the one on the treasure map. Get in the center of the snake shape, where you can climb down the mound and get the treasure out from a small hole.
This new treasure map will take you to the treasure itself.
Poisonous Trail Treasure Location
The treasure itself is hidden inside a cave that you have to locate. Fortunately for you, we have marked it on the map below.
The cave can be found behind the waterfall at a small lake called the Elysian Pool. Once you reach this location, simply walk in toward the waterfall to access the cave. This vast cave is no joke, as you can wander off and get lost inside.
Once you enter, the cave system quickly becomes hard to traverse, first climb the initial ledge, and keep your lantern to guide you in the darkness. Once you head deeper into the cave, you will find yourself in a more expansive corridor, with the path you are standing on dropping down to a lower slanting ledge to your right. Use the ramp to head down until you reach the bottom.
Turn and continue back to the direction you were heading, where you will spot a little tunnel on your right, going in through the wall. Crouch and head inside the tunnel. The tunnel will leave you at a fork in the road, one way going left, and one going right. Take the path on the right.
After taking the path on the right at the fork, you will notice another small area to your right with a little hidden camp inside. If you have a glowing lamp, you can loot some items here if you want, and then continue forward.
Towards your left, you will notice a drop from the ledge that you are on. Run and jump onto a lower ledge to the right at the bottom and continue in the direction up a slope. Up ahead, you will slide into the other side into a little pool of water and find a pile of rocks. Interact with the rocks, where you will find your four Gold Bars.
