Legendary Animals Locations Guide – Red Dead Redemption 2
Our Red Dead Redemption 2 Legendary Animals Locations Guide details the locations of all Legendary Animals in Red Dead Redemption 2 so you can easily find and kill them. To craft special and unique items, you will need to sell their pelts to a special vendor called a Trapper. He will purchase these Legendary Pelts and will then allow you to craft special gear and outfits.
Red Dead Redemption 2 features 16 Legendary Animals for you to find and kill. It is worth noting that you cannot hunt these Legendary Animals until you reach Chapter 2. Start the mission with Hosea, who will take you on a bear hunt. Complete the mission, and you will be given a special map that will show the rough locations of all Legendary Animals in the game.
Once you have located the animal’s location, you will need to track it down using at least three clues in the area. Once you find the animal, you can use any weapon to kill it. You do not have to specifically opt for bow and arrows. Use any weapon and the quality of the pelt will not be lowered.

Legendary Animal # 1 – Bharati Grizzly Bear
You will automatically reach this bear’s location while playing Hosea’s mission. However, you can return later to hunt it down. It will be marked on your map.
Legendary Animal # 2 – Legendary Boar
You will find the Legendary Boar in the Bluewater Marsh area. Look out for snakes in the area.
Legendary Animal # 3 – Legendary Beaver
The Legendary Beaver is found near the lake marked below in New Hanover. You might need to move around a little since we could not make it appear until we reached the location marked below on the map.
Legendary Animal # 4 – Legendary Moose
The Legendary Moose is found all the way to the top of the map near Doverhill.
Legendary Animal # 5 – Legendary Alligator
You will find the Legendary Alligator in a marsh near Lagras and Lakay. It did not spawn for us, but the location is marked below on the map. There are a lot of Alligators in the area so be careful while moving around here. You can only make it appear after completing a certain mission in Chapter 4 of the main story.
Legendary Animal # 6 – Legendary Elk
The Legendary Elk is found in a forest near For Wallace. We have marked its location below. There is an enemy camp near too, which might cause trouble for you spawning it.
Legendary Animal # 7 – Legendary Cougar
The Legendary Cougar is found on the Left Side of Tumbleweed in Gaptooth Ridge. You can hunt it down once the main story of the game is complete.
Legendary Animal # 8 – Legendary Panther “Giaguaro”
This Legendary Panther only spawns after you have completed 9 Master Hunter Challenges. You can check your progress in the Pause>Progress>Challenges menu. It spawns on the following location.
Legendary Animal # 9 – Legendary Wolf
The Legendary Wolf is found in Cotorra Springs.
Legendary Animal # 10 – Legendary Fox
The Legendary Fox is located near the Mattock Pond.
Legendary Animal # 11– Legendary Coyote
The Legendary Coyote is located in Lemoyne. Some enemies in the area might make it difficult for you to start tracking.
Legendary Animal # 12 – Legendary White Bison
You will find the Legendary White Bison in the cold mountains near Lake Isabella. Make sure to take winter clothes along for this hunt.
Legendary Animal # 13 – Legendary Buck
The Legendary Buck is located in Black Bone Forest up Mount Shann. The location is marked below; however, we are still trying to hunt it down.
Legendary Animal # 14 – Legendary Tatanka Bison
The Legendary Tatanka Bison is located between Stillwater Creek and Mantea Falls. You can hunt it down once the main story of the game is complete.
Legendary Animal # 15 – Legendary Big Horn Ram
The Legendary Big Horn Ram is located near the Cattail Pond.
Legendary Animal # 16 – Legendary Pronghorn
The Legendary Pronghorn is located near Rio Del Lobo Rock near Fort Mercer. You can only hunt it down once the main story of the game is complete.
