Super Rare Games has announced that it is releasing a limited-edition physical release of the brilliant underwater adventure Abzu for Nintendo Switch. The new release comes after Super Rare Games partnership with publisher 505 Games. Developed by Giant Squid, ABZU was released back in 2016 and it comes from the studio comprised of people who released Flower and Journey back on PS3.
This is the first time that ABZU will be getting a physical release for Nintendo Switch and it comes with all of the traditional Super Rare Games goodies. Only 5000 copies will be made and the sales will begin April 29, 2021, at 6 PM BST exclusively at Super Rare Games’ own store. Out of the 5000 copies, 2000 copies will be Steelbook Bundles which include a Steelbook, standard case, and slipcover. Apart from this, they will also ship with all of the goodies of the normal release.
The normal physical release of ABZU will include all content of the game in the cartridge, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and three trading cards randomly chosen out of five cards. Keeping it true to the tradition, the physical release will start shipping soon after it goes live on sale so fans will not have to wait for much longer after securing their copy online.
