IO Interactive and Amazon MGM Studios have released the latest update for 007 First Light, adding the much-awaited full path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction to the James Bond action game on PC.
The update expands the game’s existing suite of NVIDIA technologies, which already includes DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. With path tracing now enabled, 007 First Light features more detailed lighting, shadows, and reflections designed to further enhance its cinematic presentation.
According to IO Interactive, the update makes 007 First Light fully path-traced on compatible GeForce RTX PCs and laptops. DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is also designed to improve the quality of ray-traced effects while helping maintain playable performance.
The latest update builds on IO Interactive’s collaboration with NVIDIA, which began ahead of the game’s launch. The developer previously upgraded its proprietary Glacier engine to support the game’s cinematic environments, character performances, dynamic action sequences, and large-scale set pieces.
007 First Light follows a young James Bond during his early days as an MI6 recruit, presenting a new interpretation of the character’s origin story. With the arrival of Path Tracing in the game, IOI has also shared an updated PC Requirements sheet for the game, and the top Ultra + Path Tracing setting now requires an RTX 5090 for optimal performance.
007 First Light is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The PC version is currently available with a 20% discount on Steam and the Epic Games Store. 007 First Light is offered in Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s, and Legacy Editions.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light is also scheduled to follow later in Summer 2026. We also reviewed 007 First Light when it was launched and called it ‘The Spy Thriller Bond Fans Have Been Waiting For’.
