Super Rare Games Announces Super Rare Shorts, Exclusive Physical-Only Titles

Super Rare Shorts

Super Rare Games is expanding its range and has announced Super Rare Shorts under which the publisher will release never-before-released titles physically. Super Rare Games currently releases digital-only titles in physical form exclusively for Nintendo Switch and that too in extremely limited numbers making their releases rare in the market.

Under the new Super Rare Shorts label, Super Rare Games aims at releasing video games that were never released for any other platform, neither physically nor digitally making this label an even more prestigious one. The Shorts will be released physically for Nintendo Switch only. You will not even find them in the Nintendo eStore. Their exclusive format will be Super Rare Shorts.

Super Rare Shorts will feature titles that are completely original and exclusive games. The first game has yet to be announced however it is being developed by the developer behind ITTA and House of God, Glass Revolver. The title will have a month-long pre-order window later this year and only 5000 copies will be printed initially. Fans will not have to wait too long to get their hands on it as the orders will be shipped after a month of pre-orders closing.

Super Rare Shorts

Super Rare Games describes them as:

Shorts can be anything from entirely from-the-ground-up original titles by up-and-coming or veteran indie developers, finished versions of promising prototypes or smaller-scope games, vastly different and more definitive versions of promising titles that struggled to get the spotlight, or even expanded jam games from larger internal studios.

During the press release, Super Rare mentions that currently, multiple Shorts games are in development however no title has been revealed at this point. Super Rare Games has launched the new label Shorts under its aim to become ‘indie’s best friend’ and I, being a huge indie fan, fully support their decision.

Indie games are often left in the dark with major titles stealing the spotlight so this will be the perfect platform for these indie developers to ensure that their brilliant titles reach a decent audience. The main purpose of Super Rare releasing these games is to generate money so that the indie developers can fund their next projects and achieve greater visibility, sales, and a higher level of profit.

Additional details will be revealed at a later date. You can visit their official website to check out their current range of Super Rare Games’ titles.
