Super Rare Games has announced that it is teaming up with publisher Thunderful to release the oceanic action-adventure game Wavetale in physical form for the Nintendo Switch. This will be the very first time that Wavetale will arrive physically for the Nintendo Switch, and it will be a limited release, similar to all previous physical releases by Super Rare Games. Apart from a standard edition, Wavetale is also getting a SteelBook edition for collectors who prefer adding a SteeelBook to their collection instead of the normal physical version.
A total of 4,000 copies of Wavetale will be released out of which 2000 will be standard versions and 2000 will be the SteelBook editions. Both editions will go on sale on May 25, 2023, at 10 am PDT. The standard release of the game includes all of the current content available for the game on its cart, a full-color manual, interior artwork, an exclusive sticker, and trading cards while the SteelBook edition will ship with all of the above inside a stylish SteelBook case, a slipcover to keep it safe and a postcard.

In Wavetale, you will speed through the waves as you swing yourself from housetops with your net and defeat an old nemesis to save the citizens of the islands. While doing so, you will have the help of your cranky grandmother from the shadows down below. Wavetale features an open sea and a decaying archipelago of Strandville that you will get to explore through a story-driven action-adventure narrative that will introduce you to fed-up fishermen, secretive hermits, and some pirates.
In your adventures, you will traverse calm waters, and surging waves as Sigrid, a young girl who befriends a mysterious shadow that provides her power to walk on water. Key features of the game include:

- Experience a heartwarming story about loss and reconciliation.
- Make new acquaintances amongst Strandville’s diverse cast of islanders – from the charmingly cocky surfer girl to an old fisherman turned fashion designer.
