In Palworld, you will find tons of different Pals that you can find and befriend before using them in vicious combat. Just like in Pokemon games, each of these Pals belongs to a different type and naturally, each type is powerful against certain other types and weaker against certain types. The purpose of this guide is to help you identify these different types and understand their strengths and weaknesses so that you can easily counter your opponents in the game. Our Palworld Type Guide will help you understand how types work in Palworld and also detail their strengths and weaknesses.
Type Guide – Palworld
Understanding these types is very important because if your Pal is stronger against the type of your opponent, you will deal extra damage to them and you will have the upper edge in combat. Despite Pals using different weapons, these types are still important and they play a vital role in the game’s mechanics. In Palworld, each Pal belongs to a certain element and naturally, that particular element is stronger against another element and weaker against another element. While the understanding of elements is important, Pals can still other moves so ultimately, each scenario will be unique, and you will need to decide on the spot about elements and use the correct type of Pal.
The below table showcases how these elements and types come into play in Palworld:
| Element | Strong Against | Weak Against |
| Dark | Neutral | Dragon |
| Dragon | Dark | Ice |
| Electric | Water | Ground |
| Fire | Grass, Ice | Water |
| Grass | Ground | Fire |
| Ground | Electric | Grass |
| Ice | Dragon | Fire |
| Neutral | None | Dark |
| Water | Fire | Electric |
As a matter of fact, the game will detail this when you start playing the game as well. The following picture is shown inside the game’s Survival Guide which you can access anytime while playing the game:
Notice that some elements are stronger against more than one type of enemy such as Fire is stronger against both Grass and Ice, but it is weaker against only one type of element Water. You will need to understand these types and always use Pals which are stronger than the Pals used by your opponents in order to gain the upper hand and always win the game. If your Pal is from an element that is stronger than the element of your opponent, you will deal bonus damage to them.
