Evercade is a retro-game preservation company that has been releasing consoles and retro titles on cartridges to preserve them and give modern players a chance to experience them as well. The company started back in 2020 with a single handheld console, along with only 10 retro cartridges and 176 games. By the end of this year, Evercade is aiming to release over 60 cartridges and over 600 retro games available on a multitude of Evercade consoles, including handhelds, over-the-counter arcade machines, and proper consoles. The company held its Evercade Showcase Vol 4 recently.
Their latest showcase goes over what the company has in store for fans of retro games for 2025 and beyond. We have new trailers showcasing updates on all upcoming Evercade hardware and video games, so let’s jump into them.
Evercade Alpha
The Evercade Alpha is a bartop arcade machine that is fully compatible with the Evercade physical cartridge ecosystem. It is available in three officially licensed designs from Capcom and Taito. You can purchase three different variants of the Alpha, including the Evercade Alpha Street Fighter™ Bartop Arcade and the Evercade Alpha Mega Man™ Bartop Arcade, with 6 built-in arcade games on each arcade, and the Evercade Alpha Taito Bartop Arcade, which comes with 10 built-in games.
You can pre-order yours right now for a price of $229.99, and after the introductory price, it will go up to $279.99.
Partner Showcase
Evercade showcased a small reel with titles released on cartridges or through hardware featuring some great classic game publishers like NeoGeo, Atari, Capcom, Team17, PIKO, Mega Cat Studios, and more. Check it out:
NeoGeo Arcade 1 Cartidge
The NeoGeo Arcade 1 cartridge will be available for pre-order tomorrow. It costs $29.99 and will include some of the greatest titles by NeoGeo, like Metal Slug. It will be released in August 2025.
NeoGeo Arcade 2 + NeoGeo Arcade 3
Evercade officially announced NeoGeo Arcade 2 and NeoGeo Arcade 3 for Evercade systems. These collections will bring twelve additional classics from NeoGeo to modern players. NEOGEO Arcade 2 includes GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, ART OF FIGHTING 2, METAL SLUG 2, CROSSED SWORDS, NINJA COMMANDO, and SENGOKU 2. NEOGEO Arcade 3 includes THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’97, SAMURAI SHODOWN II, METAL SLUG 3, GHOST PILOTS, SUPER SIDEKICKS, and TWINKLE STAR SPRITES. Pre-orders for both collections will start on August 29, 2025, and they will be available in October 2025.
Roguecraft DX
The Amiga classic Roguecraft DX is coming to Evercade in an enhanced and expanded form. In Roguecraft DX, you will select your hero, fight hordes of monsters, and avoid the chickens because they are monsters as well. The DX version brings new levels, new monsters, new music, new potions, and much more to the game. Pre-orders for Roguecraft DX will begin on May 30, 2025, and it will be released in August 2025. It will cost $29.99.
Evercade VS-R Solo, Evercade EXP-R Solo
Pre-orders for both Evercade VS-R Solo and Evercade EXP-R Solo will begin on June 30th, 2025, and they will be available in September 2025. Evercade VS-R Solo will cost $119.99, while Evercade EXP-R Solo will cost $119.99 as well. While both systems will be available solo, cartridge bundles will be announced later, and you will need to check in with your local retailers for them.
TAITO Arcade I + TAITO Arcade II
Evercade has also announced two amazing cartridge collections featuring a plethora of games from the retro game publisher TAITO. Taito Arcade 1 includes the legendary SPACE INVADERS and the beloved BUBBLE BOBBLE, plus DON DOKO DON, GROWL, THE LEGEND OF KAGE, and more, while Taito Arcade 2 includes the classic shooter OPERATION WOLF, THE NEWZEALAND STORY, RASTAN, and others. Pre-orders for both collections will begin on July 30, 2025, and they will launch later in September 2025.
