Blades of Fire 2.0 Showcases New Transmutation System Ahead of May 14 Release

Blades of Fire 2.0

MercurySteam and 505 Games have revealed new details for Blades of Fire Version 2.0, highlighting a Transmutation system set to arrive with the update on May 14. The feature is part of a broader overhaul to expand gameplay options across all platforms, with a preview currently available in the game’s Steam demo.

The Transmutation system allows players to convert crafting materials directly at the forge, introducing a more flexible approach to resource management. Instead of relying solely on gathering specific items, players can transform previously discovered materials into others, adjusting their inventory based on current needs. Materials are organized into tiers, meaning lower-tier resources can be combined into higher-tier ones, while rarer materials can be broken down into more common components.

This system is designed to reduce friction in progression by giving players more control over how they prepare equipment. In a game built around forging and upgrading weapons, the ability to rebalance resources mid-playthrough changes how players approach crafting decisions and long-term planning.

Blades of Fire 2.0

Blades of Fire centers on a combat and crafting loop where players control characters such as Aran and Adso, forging weapons and adapting their loadouts to face increasingly difficult encounters. The 2.0 update builds on this foundation with additional features, including a Photo Mode and other quality-of-life improvements already included in the current demo.

Blades of Fire 2.0 can now be experienced through its official PC Steam demo, which includes all improvements, features, and content featured in the upcoming update. The 2.0 content update will roll out for the full version of Blades of Fire starting May 14, 2026, across PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
