TRAILMARK Games and AMC Global Media have revealed Negan as the newest playable character in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, adding one of the franchise’s most recognizable antagonists to the upcoming beat ’em up. The announcement was made during the Future Games Show gamescom 2026 Showcase, ahead of the game’s September 18 release.
Negan will fight with Lucille, his signature barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat, and join Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne as playable characters. His inclusion gives players the option to take control of the former leader of the Saviors while battling both human enemies and walkers.
Inspired by the All-Out War storyline from AMC’s The Walking Dead, Streets of Survival follows Rick and his allies as they confront Negan, the Saviors, and the undead. The campaign takes players through locations associated with the storyline, including Sanctuary, Hilltop, and Alexandria.
The game uses a side-scrolling beat ’em-up format with each character bringing their own combat abilities. Players can combine melee combos with ranged attacks while dealing with groups of walkers and human opponents. The campaign also includes finishing moves and larger set pieces alongside its pixel-art presentation.
Enemy encounters will include both standard threats and boss fights. Players will face characters from the Saviors, including Negan and Simon, as well as larger walker enemies such as Winslow and the Well Walker. The boss battles are structured around multiple phases, requiring players to adapt their approach as encounters progress.
Outside the main campaign, Streets of Survival features an arcade-style challenge mode designed around replaying stages and mastering individual character movesets. Multiple difficulty levels are available, while an optional Easy Mode provides a lower difficulty for players who want a more accessible experience.
Pre-orders are now available for the Standard and Deluxe Editions across PC and consoles. Players who pre-order either edition will receive the Golden Survival Pack, which includes seven golden weapon skins.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will launch on PC via Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, 2026. A free demo is currently available on Steam.
