CD PROJEKT RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will make its first major public appearance at Gamescom 2026, with new information set to be revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, Opening Night Live is one of the biggest showcases of the annual gaming event, featuring world premieres, trailers, and major announcements from across the industry.

CD PROJEKT RED has confirmed that the upcoming expansion will be part of this year’s presentation, giving fans their latest look at the new adventure before it arrives in 2027. Beyond the Opening Night Live reveal, attendees at Gamescom will also be able to experience Songs of the Past through guided presentations at the developer’s booth in Cologne, Germany. Business visitors can attend showcase sessions at Hall 4.2, Booth B065 from August 26 to August 28, while members of the public will be able to watch presentations in the entertainment area at Booths B030 and A031 in Hall 8.1 from August 26 through August 30.

The expansion marks Geralt of Rivia’s return to the gorgeous world of the game, taking players back into the role of the legendary witcher for a brand-new chapter in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. While CD PROJEKT RED has yet to reveal gameplay details or story information, the gamescom presentation is expected to offer the first substantial look at the expansion.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game Pass

Songs of the Past continues to build on one of the most successful RPGs ever released. Since launching in 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold more than 65 million copies worldwide, earned over 250 Game of the Year awards, and collected more than 1,000 industry awards, making it one of the most celebrated games of the last decade.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. More information will be revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live and throughout the event’s showcase presentations. There is no word as of now that this DLC will be available on PS4 and XBOX One, where the original game initially launched.
