CD Projekt Red has announced that the recently released The Witcher 3 – Complete Edition is getting a retail physical release for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The physical release of The Witcher 3 – Complete Edition is currently announced for North America, Europe, and select territories across the world and they will start arriving on January 26, 2023. Players who skipped the digital release will now be able to add the physical version to their collections later this week.
The Complete Edition initially arrived as a free update for all current owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Players who switched to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were able to jump into the new version for free to try out a more enhanced version of the critically-acclaimed RPG. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition allows players to take advantage of the extra power of modern gaming hardware to offer numerous visual and technical enhancements over the original.
These improved features include Performance and Ray Tracing modes, support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, faster loading times, and more. On PS5, the game also uses the advanced haptics and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller, allowing players to feel more immersive in the experience. The next-gen version also introduces items and quests inspired by The Witcher Netflix show along with tons of quality-of-life additions to the game.
These include new camera options, quick Sign casting, Photo Mode, cross-platform progression, map and UI tweaks, a selection of community-created mods integrated into the experience, and tons of others. Furthermore, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition also includes all of the previously released DLCs and expansions for the base game including the Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine expansions along with 16 pieces of smaller DLCs.
