CD Projekt Red has announced that the next-gen release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been delayed yet again and this time ‘until further notice’. The next-gen release for The Witcher 3 was originally planned for 2022 however the title is now pushed further ahead with currently no release window in sight. It will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additional details will be announced later.
CD Projekt Red detailed:
We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice.

Back in 2019, The Witcher 3 was also released for Nintendo Switch, and it featured the entire game plus all of its DLCs and expansion packs. The next-gen versions of The Witcher 3 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S were announced during the very first WitcherCon which was held back in July 2021. It will feature new visuals and updated framerates along with exclusive new items inspired by the Netflix series The Witcher. We have also seen some The Witcher crossovers in games like Monster Hunter World.
CD Projekt Red previously announced that the studio is working on a new The Witcher saga as well and it will be developed using Unreal Engine 5. Apart from mainstream The Witcher titles and working on The Witcher 3 next-gen upgrade, CD Projekt Red is currently working on GWENT as well with the most recent release of its 8th season earlier this year. As of now, the studio has not shared any sort of release window for the next-gen release. Keep checking back as we will surely update you once we get to know more details. The Witcher: Monster Slayer is a mobile adaptation of this franchise.
