Survival Horror Game ILL Confirms 2027 Release Window with New Story Trailer

ILL

Team Clout and Mundfish Powerhouse have revealed a new story trailer for ILL, their upcoming first-person survival horror game, during Sony’s State of Play showcase. The footage, captured on PS5 Pro, is the most extensive look at the game since its initial reveal in summer 2025 and confirms that ILL is targeting a 2027 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The trailer introduces new story characters, several new enemy types called Aberrations, and fresh gameplay footage showing off the game’s dismemberment system, realistic weapon handling, and environmental interactions. The locations on show range from tight, claustrophobic interiors to larger outdoor spaces, giving a broader sense of the game’s scale than previous reveals.

ILL is set inside a massive research facility where something has gone catastrophically wrong. Aberrations have overrun the complex, and the player must fight through them while piecing together what happened and trying to save whoever is left. The game leans hard into resource scarcity; ammunition is scarce enough that players will frequently need to fall back on improvised melee weapons, ripping pipes from walls or hurling bricks to stun enemies before moving in. Every encounter is designed to feel dangerous, with the game not attempting to soften the threat level.

Game Director and Team Clout CEO Max Verehin said the studio is “working tirelessly to deliver on our ambitious vision,” while Mundfish CEO Robert Bagratuni described ILL as a game that “redefines how real a horror game can feel,” adding that the mystery being set up will “pull players in just as deeply” as the visuals.

What sets ILL apart from most games in the genre is the background of its developers. Team Clout comes from the film industry, with credits spanning Until Dawn, IT: Welcome to Derry, Longlegs, and various Sony Pictures horror productions. That experience feeds directly into the game’s approach to visual effects and atmosphere, with the studio aiming for a level of cinematic realism that makes the horror feel grounded rather than stylized.

ILL is slated for release on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is available to wishlist now on Steam, the PSN Store, and the Microsoft Store.
