Sony just heated the summer up with the best gaming event so far of the Summer Game Fest 2026, which featured some heavy hitters like Marvel’s Wolverine, Until Dawn 2, God of War Laufay, and more. The best thing about the showcase was not just the game trailers but the fact that most of the games featured are launching in either September 2026 or October 2026. Everything Revealed at Sony State of Play June 2026
Marvel’s Wolverine
Sony kicked off the show with Marvel’s Wolverine, showcasing over 7 minutes of gameplay. The trailer gave us a good look at the visceral yet fluid combat of the game, along with some other characters from the X-Men franchise who will be part of the game. Marvel’s Wolverine is launching on September 15, 2026, on PS5 consoles.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works followed up with a brand-new trailer for its upcoming Marvel fighting game, Marve Tokon: Fighting Souls, showcasing the fourth team in the game, the Knights of Doom. The team is led by Doctor Doom, who is joined by Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is launching on PS5 and PC on August 6, 2026.
Rayman Legends Untold
Ubisoft has revealed Rayman Legends Untold, a 3D reimagining of the 2013 game featuring a brand-new world, Kung Foot, and co-op action. The game will feature fully voiced cinematics, an expanded soundtrack, and musical stages. Rayman Legends Untold launches August 27, 2026, on PS5 consoles.
Bancho the Chef
The creators of Dave the Diver are back with a brand-new standalone prequel revolving around the young chef Bancho. Bancho is travelling across Asia to learn from master chefs along the way on his way to greatness. The game is set in a similar setting to Blue Hole. It is currently in development for PS5.
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen is a Yokai Possession Action game set in Kemuri City. The game’s location is set close to the afterlife, where reality and the other side have never quite stayed separate. While playing as a Yokai Hunter, you will use the Fox Window to reveal what others cannot see, form contracts with the yokai, and wear their power as Possession Apparel. The game is playable in both solo and co-op with up to three other players. It is launching on PS5 in 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, the latest game in the Tomb Raider franchise, by Crystal Dynamics, Amazon Game Studios, and Flying Wild Hog, is launching on PS5 consoles on February 12, 2027.
The Lost Wild: True Fear is Primal
The Lost Wild: True Fear is Primal is a brand-new evasion-based survival horror game in which players will go up against dinosaurs. The game will see players exploring overgrown research facilities in lush wilderness and solving the mystery of the island while evading, distracting and surviving massive creatures. The game is being developed by Great Ape Games and Annapurna Interactive.
Phantom Blade Zero
Phantom Blade Zero is a brand-new fast-paced action RPG built around authentic Kungfu combat. It is launching on PS5 consoles on October 29, 2026. A full trailer along with a pre-order launch will be revealed in a special State of Play in late summer 2026. The game is under development at S-Game.
Dune: Awakening – Console Release
Dune: Awakening, the open-world sandbox RPG by Funcom set in the expansive world of Dune, is launching on PS5 consoles on September 22, 2026. The console port will feature a brand-new singleplayer mode, a new chapter in its cinematic storyline, and tons of additions and improvements.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remix
KOIE TECMO has announced a remake of the original Dynasty Warriors 3, named DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Complete Edition Remastered. It will feature a modern revival of DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 and DYNASTY WARRIORS 3: Extreme Legends. It is launching on PS5 consoles on October 1, 2026.
No Rest for the Wicked
Moon Studios, the developers behind Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, announced their brand-new title, No Rest for the Wicked. It is a unique, visceral action RPG set in a handcrafted world featuring tough, soulslike combat. The game will feature over 100+ hours of content, powerful weapons, bosses and enemies, new areas to explore, and a completely reimagined class system. The game will feature both solo and co-op modes. It is launching on PS5 consoles in October 2026.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
The latest title in the Onimusha franchise, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, will release on PS5 consoles on September 25, 2026. The game showcased a brand-new trailer during the State of Play featuring a first look at the Mount Oe stage along with the Shuten Doji boss.
A free demo of the game is also now available for all PS5 owners to try out the game before its full release later this summer.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Konami released a new trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall and announced the release date for it as well. Silent Hill: Townfall is launching on PS5 consoles on September 24, 2026. The trailer featured Simon Ordell, who is called back to the island of St. Amelia, which is currently lying beneath a heavy fog.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
BANDAI NAMCO showcased the latest trailer for Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, announcing the game’s release date. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve launches October 2nd, 2026, on PS5 consoles and will take players above the skies of The Federation of Central Usea.
Every pre-order of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve will also receive a bonus copy of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War along with an F-14A bonus plane for the eighth title. The Deluxe Edition will also include a Customizable Cosmetic Set, Premium Ace Pass Voucher (+30 Level Skip, and 3 Days Early Access.
Stuntman: Hollywood
The Stuntman series is coming back with the official reveal of Stuntman: Hollywood. In the new game, players will become Hollywood’s most sought-after stuntman as they perform explosive scenes inspired by blockbuster movies. It is coming to the PS5 soon.
ILL
ILL is a realistic first-person action horror game that takes players into a dark fort overtaken by a mysterious entity. Developed by Team Clout Studio, ILL features a grim story, unpredictable monsters, a visceral dismemberment system, and realistic physics.
CONTROL: Resonant
Remedy has officially announced the release date of CONTROL: Resonant, its upcoming title in the CONTROL franchise. The game takes place in Manhattan, which is under attack by otherworld forces, and the only one who can save it is Dylan Faden. CONTROL: Resonant is slated for launch on PS5 on September 24, 2026.
Marathon – Season 2
Bungie showcased a trailer featuring the Season 2 content for Marathon and announced a free weekend for the game running until June 9, 2026.
PS Plus Additions
Next, Sony revealed what is coming next to the PS Plus lineup:

Until Dawn 2
Firesprite revealed a surprise trailer for Until Dawn 2, the next installment in the iconic episodic horror franchise owned by Sony. Until Dawn 2 revolves around the story of a group of ghost hunters as they chase their next viral hit on a remote island haunted by a woman’s chilling story. Until Dawn will release on PS5 consoles in 2027.
God of War Laufey
Sony Santa Monica took to the stage at the end of the State of Play with a massive 23-minute gameplay debut of the latest title in the God of War series, God of War Laufey. The game takes a break from Kratos and Atreus and focuses on what happened to Laufey (Faye), Kratos’ wife. It is coming soon to PS5.
