Nerial and Devolver Digital have announced that Reigns: The Witcher, a new narrative-driven entry in the Reigns franchise, will launch on February 25, 2026, for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. Developed in cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED, the game reimagines the world of The Witcher through the signature choice-driven format that defines the Reigns series.
Rather than placing players directly in Geralt of Rivia’s boots, Reigns: The Witcher tells its story from the perspective of Dandelion, the famed bard whose retellings shape the legend of the White Wolf. Through a series of left-and-right swipe decisions, players influence Geralt’s actions across the Continent, with choices rippling outward into thousands of possible narrative combinations.
Reigns: The Witcher Brings Geralt’s Story to the Swipe-Based Series This February
The game blends The Witcher’s established characters and moral complexity with Reigns’ minimalist decision-making system. Players will encounter familiar figures such as Yennefer of Vengerberg, Triss Merigold, and Vesemir, while navigating political tensions, monster contracts, and personal dilemmas that rarely present clear-cut outcomes.
According to the press release, decisions may range from advising villagers on whether to confront a dangerous beast to indulging risky requests that could put Geralt’s life at stake. Combat is handled through short minigames, while narrative progression depends on maintaining balance across interconnected storylines rather than pursuing a single “correct” path.
As Dandelion, players work to build their reputation as a legendary bard by leveling up their career, unlocking new plotlines, and completing “Inspirations” that expand the scope of the story. These narrative layers are designed to reflect how legends evolve, shaped as much by interpretation and consequence as by heroic deeds themselves.
CD Projekt RED is currently working on the next AAA iteration of the series, The Witcher 4, and a tech demo showcasing the in-game engine was presented last year during the State of Unreal presentation. The Witcher 4 features an adventure based on Ciri, one of the main characters from The Witcher 3, and expands her story into a full-fledged adventure. As of now, no release date for the game has been announced.
Reigns: The Witcher launches February 25, 2026, on PC, Mac, iOS, and Android. Players can wishlist the game on PC and pre-register on mobile platforms ahead of release.
