Truck Driver: The American Dream is officially making its way to PC later this month as publisher SOEDESCO and developer Kyodai announced that the narrative-driven trucking simulator will launch on Steam on May 29, 2026. Already available on PlayStation and Xbox, the upcoming PC release will arrive alongside a major content update rolling out across all platforms.
Unlike traditional trucking simulators that focus primarily on cargo deliveries and business management, Truck Driver: The American Dream blends long-haul trucking gameplay with a more personal, story-focused experience. Players step into the role of Nathan, a truck driver attempting to build a career on the open road while forming relationships, taking on jobs, and navigating life across America’s highways.
The game serves as part of SOEDESCO’s broader Truck Driver franchise, which includes titles such as Truck Driver, Truck Driver: Go, and Truck Driver: Gold Edition. However, The American Dream places a heavier emphasis on storytelling and character interactions while retaining the relaxed driving mechanics and open-road atmosphere that fans of the genre expect.
Ahead of launch, players can already try a demo on Steam featuring the game’s opening chapter alongside several Freedom-to-Roam missions. The full PC release will also introduce a substantial update for existing console players, adding new gameplay systems, graphical improvements, and expanded hardware support.
Truck Driver: The American Dream’s PC Steam version supports expanded steering wheel compatibility, with support confirmed for several popular racing peripherals, including Logitech, Thrustmaster, HORI, and Fanatec hardware. The update also introduces hardware and software ray tracing support alongside compatibility with NVIDIA DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 4, giving PC players additional graphical and performance options.
Additional new features include:
- 10 new Freedom-to-Roam missions, pushing the total mission count beyond 150
- A brand-new drivable truck for Free Roam gameplay
- “Vista System” treasure hunt activities
- A Hunger System requiring players to eat at restaurants, gas stations, and rest stops
- An updated world map with improved visuals
- Dedicated Steam Deck graphical optimization profiles
- Story-mode avatars for key characters
Truck Driver: The American Dream launches on PC via Steam on May 29, 2026. It is already available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The major update will arrive across all platforms simultaneously.
