The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most hyped games at the moment. It is a reboot of the iconic shooter and every day we are hearing about new features that will arrive in the game when it comes out later this year. A totally unique feature has been revealed by Game Informer which is essentially a digital wrist pet called Tamagunchi in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which feeds on your multiplayer kills.
This unique feature was detailed to Game Informer by Joel Emslie, art director of the game, who stated that it all started with the addition of adding wristwatches for the players. Things got out of control when they started brainstorming of what else could be added to the game and thus the result is the tiny creature called Tamagunchi which is essentially a blood-thirsty wrist pet. Apart from multiplayer, it will also be available in the co-op Spec Ops mode.
Players will be required to feed their Tamagunchi by killing enemies in Modern Warfare. Its starts its life as an egg and then it is up to you to nurture it. Getting more kills in matches will keep it happy and well-fed. Don’t get any kills in matches and it will go hungry and eventually it will rot and die. So your wrist pet’s life is in entirely your hands.
Joel’s exact words to Game Informer were:
This little thing on your wrist, every time you get a string of kills, it goes, ‘Ya-ta!’ and it makes a little noise, then you look at it, and it evolved out of an egg. Tamagunchis are fed by the player’s performance in multiplayer. It’s just this little active wristwatch thing. If you don’t take care of your Tamagunchi, it will rot and die.
However, this is a completely optional feature and if you don’t want to equip it, don’t. It is just cool to have such features which can provide an additional challenge to nab some kills and make sure that your wrist pet stays alive. You can head over to Game Informer and check out the complete coverage on Tamagunchi.
