Developer Nightdive Studios and publishers New Blood Interactive and Apogee Entertainment have announced that they are pushing the release date of the console version of Rise of the Triad Ludicrous Edition. The PC and GOG version of Rise of the Triad: LUDICROUS EDITION are still slated for a release next week however the game will see itself arriving on consoles later this year. In Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition, you will experience the true-to-form remake of the original Rise of the Triad running on the original source code via Night Dive’s propriety KEX Engine.

The LUDICROUS EDITION will allow you to turn back the clock and relive the classic shooter on modern hardware with 4K visuals, unlimited frames, and a remixed soundtrack. Apart from this, the game will also feature brand-new story episodes and restored never-before-seen content. In Rise of the Triad: LUDICROUS EDITION, you will command one of five elite H.U.N.T. operatives where each operative comes with its own hit points, speed, and accuracy statistics.
Using these operatives, you will take down a mysterious cult dead set on destroying Los Angeles in five separate campaigns featuring new episodes, expansion packs, and never-before-seen content from previously lost beta builds of the game. This will be the most complete version of Rise of the Triad and you will be able to experience everything in HD visuals. The game features classic weaponry such as the legendary dual-wield pistols and MP-40 machine gun.
You can further maximize your damage with drunk missiles, destructive Firebombs, and swing for the fences with the enchanted Excalibat. You can also put a custom spin on the classic gameplay with the all-new level editor complete with Steam Workshop support. This will allow you to engage in COMM_BAT with an online 11-player deathmatch. You can also go 1 vs 10 in Hunter Mode and if you prefer, experience history in Capture the Triad, the world’s very first ‘capture the flag’ mode.
Rise of the Triad: LUDICROUS EDITION is slated for its PC release via Steam and GOG on July 31, 2023. The console release includes PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch however as of now, we do not have a confirmed release date for it. All we know is that the game will hit consoles later this month. Additional details will be shared in the coming weeks and months.
