Plague Inc. to Bring Anti-Vaxxers to the Disease Simulator Game

Plague Inc. has decided to add anti-vaxxers in the disease simulator game which will add to a new threat to humanity in the shape of anti-vaxxers. The confirmation was made by the developer Ndemic Creations on Twitter.

Ndemic’s decision comes after noticing a petition last week, that was asking developers to add anti-vaxxers as a buff. Instead of the buff, Ndemic had previously asked the petition to reach 10,000 for an anti-vaxxer scenario. The petition now sits at 20,000 in favor of having anti-vaxxers in the game.

“Ok, fine!” the studio said in a tweet. “If this petition gets 10k, will add a specific new anti-vaxxer scenario to Plague Inc.”

After the petition exceeded the required number, the studio acknowledged the numbers and tweeted again saying, “Alright, alright! You spoke, we listened. Neurie’s very happy to hear that we’re going to start fighting out anti-vaxxers soon. He’s dying t try and get inside their heads.”

We’re currently working out how Anti-Vaxxers will work in the game — we have a few ideas that we’re trying out and running them through our algorithms. (The biggest challenge is that if everyone in Plague Inc.’s global simulation suddenly stopped getting vaccinated then it would be a very easy game to win!)

Having said that, there is no word how the team will implement the anti-vaccine movement, though it sounds like the feature sits quite well with the type of game that Plague Inc is.

The game was first released for mobile platforms back in 2012 and later ported to PC. The game’s objective is for players to end the human race by evolving a deadly and global disease that ends humanity. The can choose from a variety of pathogens, some that can even turn humans into zombies or vampires. From there, players are expected to spread the virus before humanity can find a cure.
