GungHo Online Entertainment has just released another developer diary video of its upcoming title Ninjala. This is the fifth video in the developer diary series of the game, and it announces two new weapons that the developers have added to the game.
The two new weapon types are the Scroll Blade and the Drum Beat, both of which will be added to the game and will be available right at the launch.

The video also confirms that the weapons will be shown in action when the first official Ninjala stream will be hosted live by the company on June 17. The newly introduced weapons will then be properly revealed to the players. In addition, the live stream event will also discuss the Team Battle mode, and will feature the Japanese singer and model, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, who will join as a special guest in a team battle against Ninjala developers.
Ninjala is a free-to-play Nintendo Switch exclusive game that was originally planned for a release late last month on May 28. However, the developers decided to push the date further by almost a month because of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic. The new release date is set for June 25, and it seems that the developers are all set to finally launch the game.
Here are some of the key features of the game:
- Ninja-Gum – Use Ninja-Gum to blow bubbles that can be tossed at your foes, craft all sorts of weapons, and dash across stages. The appearance and variety of your weapon will vary depending on the type of Ninja-Gum you use.
- Competitive Play – Take part in Battle Royale-style matches of up to eight players and vie for supremacy with ninja around the world. The player who earns the most points over the course of the match will be declared the winner. Score points by defeating your opponents, obtaining items, destroying drones positioned across the stage, and more. Earn extra points by taking down your opponents with an IPPON—impressive finishing techniques.
- Cooperative Play – Join up with friends and take part in a 4-on-4 team battle. Cooperate with your teammates and earn more points than the opposing team to be declared the winner.
- Avatar – A colorful variety of costumes and accessories from an array of unique fashion brands are available. Choose from a wide variety of avatar items which can be combined as you see fit. You can stick to one brand for a consistent look, or mix and match to create a style all your own!
