The Last Remnant is finally making its way to PlayStation consoles for the first time as Square Enix has announced that will be release a remastered version of the 2008 game in December. This is the first time The Last Remnant is coming to a PlayStation system.

The game in question was released on Xbox 360 back in 2008 while a PC version was also released which featured additional content. The PS4 Remastered version will be based on the Xbox 360 version while it will also include everything that was later added to the PC version of the game. The PC version of the game was released in 2009.

Along with additional content, the game will also have a brand new game engine which will allow it to have much higher resolution that the original title and better graphics. The original art style of the game was very unique and all credits goes to Yusuke Naora who worked on the original 360 version of the game.

Square Enix further revealed that they will showcase the actual gameplay and will reveal more details about The Last Remnant Remastered at Tokyo Game Show 2018 where some of the original developers of the game will be present to showcase it.

The Last Remnant follows the journey of Rush Sykes who leaves his island in a bid to rescue his sister. The game is a solid RPG title and featured some great game mechanics. It was also the first game from Square Enix that used the Unreal Engine. It received decent reception and received 66 score on Metacritic.

Now the game is finally making its way to PS4 consoles in the form of a digital purchase title. It will launch on December 6, 2018 on the PlayStation 4 systems. So far, the game is only confirmed for the Japanese market.
