Indie developer Creepy Jar has released a detailed look at its upcoming sci-fi game StarRupture in the form of a gameplay trailer. The new 12-minute trailer features uninterrupted gameplay that shows how the game shines when you play it with a friend. Despite being developed for four-player co-op, the game is equally fun with just one friend playing with you. The game is fully playable solo, but it shines majorly when another player joins in with you and shares tasks like base expansion, managing operations, and resource collection.
Apart from the typical tasks that you find in a base-building game, in StarRupture, there are also plenty of dangers all across Arcadia-7, which involves combat as well. Apart from you and your fellow prisoners, the planet is also home to an alien race who do not respond kindly to other species. This alien race will not only try to kill you but also try to steal your resources, so you will need to defend your base from their constant attacks as well. In StarRupture, you are a prisoner, and you are working off your sentence by taking contracts from various corporations on the hostile planet Arcadia-7. Because of your past, you are considered a precious albeit expendable asset, and thus your roles are defined around your status. Your tasks will include extracting, processing, and delivering resources to your base while surviving the harshness of the planet.
By definition, StarRupture is a base builder, but you will need to do a lot more than just build your base. You and your fellow prisoners will need to work together and push beyond your limits in order to build your base, extract and process resources, and survive the dangerous alien race. Apart from these challenges, a ticking clock in the form of the Ruptura Star is also constantly ticking. This violent star is on its way to annihilate the planet and everything found on it, so you need to constantly work against time.
StarRupture’s key features include:

- Alone or with Friends – Experience and survive everything you encounter on this harsh planet. Do it alone or in a group of up to 4 players. This world is waiting for you to discover.
StarRupture is slated for an Early Access release in Fall 2025, and a Steam page for the game is currently live. If you are interested in playing it when it comes out, you can add it to your wishlist. The developer will reveal additional details, including a confirmed release date, in the coming months. Creepy Jar rose to fame with their previous Amazon-survival game Green Hell.
