SNK CORPORATION has announced the return of its very first FATAL FURY / GAROU franchise with a brand-new title. With its latest press release, SNK has confirmed that a brand-new title in the FATAL FURY / GAROU franchise is currently under development. FATAL FURY / GAROU is considered the starting point for all of the SNK’s long history of fighting games. Apart from this, SNK has also announced details about the new KOF XV DLC and SAMURAI SHODOWN.

FATAL FURY started its journey back in the 90s when fighting games were on the rise on all platforms, especially arcades. The first title was released in 1991 while the last title in the franchise was GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES and it was released in 1999. Now, the series is coming back with SNK revealing the teaser art and a teaser trailer for it. The new FATAL FURY / GAROU will mark a new turning point in the history of fighting games, and it appears like SNK will continue to series additional titles in the franchise down the road as well.
Apart from revealing the new FATAL FURY title, SNK also announced the release of the KOV XV DLC TEAM AWAKENED OROCHI. The TEAM AWAKENED OROCHI DLC brings three new fighters to KOV XV including OROCHI YASHIRO, OROCHI SHERMIE, and OROCHI CHRIS. All three of them worked in the shadows to revive Orochi back in KOF 7 and now they have arrived in the latest KOF title as well. Check out the launch trailer for the DLC below:
Apart from the release of TEAM AWAKENED OROCHI, SNK also announced the next set of fighters coming to KOF XV. The new TEAM SUMARAI will arrive in the game in Fall 2022, and it will bring HAOHMARU, NAKORURU, and DARLI DAGGER from SNK’s SAMURAI SHODOWN to KOF XV. The next season of KOF XV DLC will start in 2023 and classic fan favorites like SHINGO YABUKI and KIM KAPHWAN have been announced for the future.
The long-awaited crossplay is also slated to arrive in KOF XV in 2022. With the addition of TEAM AWAKENED OROCHI, the DLC characters for KOV XV is now 7 characters from the currently available characters roster, 8 previously announced characters with a lot more characters planned for the future season as well. This takes the total count to over 15 planned characters. With 39 base characters in the game, the total number of fighters will become 54 with all of the DLC characters giving KOF XV a solid character roster to choose from.
Additional details about the new FATAL FURY / GAROU will be revealed at a later date. Recently, Fall Guys had its very own collaboration with FATAL FURY as a result of which we received Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui as costumes. Terry Bogard was added to KOF XV as well as a fighter.
