Developer and publisher ABUTTON Inc. has officially unveiled Guns & Dragons, a new co-op roguelite first-person shooter that combines fast-paced gunplay with fantasy creatures, magical upgrades, and highly customizable weapons. The studio also released the game’s first gameplay trailer, offering an early look at its blend of ranged combat, roguelite progression, and cooperative multiplayer.
Currently in development for Windows PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, Guns & Dragons is the debut title from a Korean development team that includes veterans who previously worked on Dave the Diver and Counter-Strike Online.
Set in a magitech fantasy world, the game sends players into dungeons, caverns, villages, and other dangerous locations where they battle waves of monsters and dragons using firearms, bows, and magical technology. Players can tackle missions alone or team up in online co-op with up to two other players, creating three-player squads that combine different weapons and abilities to survive increasingly difficult encounters.
Rather than relying on static loadouts, Guns & Dragons revolves around building increasingly powerful weapons over the course of each run. Players begin with relatively standard equipment before modifying it through a mix of magical enhancements, runes, relics, and other upgrades. As runs progress, weapons evolve into increasingly unconventional creations, encouraging experimentation with different combinations and playstyles.
Outside of combat, players can expand and improve a home base while unlocking new equipment infused with arcane technology. The progression system is built around the roguelite formula, with randomized upgrades ensuring that each run plays differently. According to the developer, combining enchanted ammunition, artifacts, and weapon upgrades allows players to create a wide variety of builds rather than relying on a single optimal strategy.
While the game embraces over-the-top weapon customization, ABUTTON says combat is intended to remain challenging. Players will face aggressive enemies, demanding firefights, and boss encounters designed to test both mechanical skill and build planning, whether playing solo or cooperatively.
Players won’t have to wait long to try the game themselves. The first Steam playtest is scheduled to begin on July 30, allowing players to experience the core gameplay systems ahead of release. ABUTTON will also showcase Guns & Dragons at ChinaJoy 2026, which takes place from July 31 through August 3, where attendees will be able to see the game in action and learn more about its combat and progression systems. Players who want to jump into the playtest can register their interest through the official Steam page of the game.
Guns & Dragons is currently in development for Windows PC and will launch via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A Steam playtest begins on July 30, with additional details on gameplay features, future testing phases, and the game’s release planned for a later date.
