Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive have released the Confrontation Update for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, delivering the final major content update planned for the game’s second year of post-launch support. Available now as a free update on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Patch 14 expands the game’s PvP offering while introducing a new Chaos enemy, unlockable gear, and cosmetic DLC for Season Pass 2 owners.
The new update brings new additions to the game’s Eternal War multiplayer mode with the addition of two new PvP arenas. Players can now battle across Sanctum and Facility, bringing the total number of Eternal War maps to seven and adding new environments for competitive matches.
Patch 14 also introduces a new weekly progression system for PvP. Players can earn Accolades by participating in Eternal War matches and completing Datavault challenges, unlocking cosmetic rewards and other content as they continue playing.
Outside of PvP, the update expands the game’s PvE content with a new Terminus-class enemy. The Scarab Occult Terminator Sorcerer, one of the Thousand Sons’ elite warriors, can now appear in Chaos-focused Operations as well as Siege mode, giving players another formidable boss-level encounter to overcome during cooperative missions.
Players will also have access to six new Heroic Weapon Variants, which can be unlocked using Accolades earned through gameplay. The additions include alternate versions of the Melta Rifle, Chainsword, Bolt Carbine Combi-Flamer, Power Fist with an integrated Meltagun, a Deathwatch-inspired Stalker Bolt Rifle, and a new Executioner’s Axe variant for the Thunder Hammer.

Customization options have also been expanded with three new Heroic armor pieces. Players can unlock a new Ultramarines pauldron alongside a Deathwatch breastplate and gauntlet, offering additional cosmetic rewards tied to in-game progression.
Season Pass 2 owners receive two additional cosmetic packs as part of the update. The Salamanders Champion Pack 2 introduces a new Heavy class champion skin and a themed Multi-Melta weapon skin, while the Raptors Cosmetic Pack adds five armor pieces inspired by the chapter’s stealth-focused combat doctrine.

Released in 2024, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has continued to receive regular post-launch updates that expand both its cooperative and competitive modes. With the Confrontation Update marking the conclusion of its second year of seasonal content, Saber Interactive has already confirmed that Year 3 support will begin in September, signaling that additional content is still planned for the third-person action game. The Confrontation Update is available now as a free download for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players who own the Season Pass 2 also gain access to the new Salamanders and Raptors cosmetic DLC packs included with the update.
