Owlcat Games has released a new trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, introducing Saro, one of the companions players can recruit during the game’s ongoing Closed Beta.
Saro is a sanctioned psyker who serves the Inquisition despite being considered a sinner by the Imperium. Due to this, Saro can never get blessed light of the God-Emperor, but his iron will has helped him survive more battles than he can remember. Like all psykers in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, he draws his powers from the Warp, granting him devastating abilities while constantly risking corruption by Chaos.
In combat, Saro specializes in pyromancy, unleashing firestorms capable of incinerating enemies. Saro’s powers may be useful, but using them too much can cause additional trouble. Excessive use of his psychic powers increases Warp disturbances, potentially triggering dangerous Warp phenomena and summoning additional enemies that can make encounters even more challenging.
Outside of battle, Saro’s knowledge of the supernatural also plays a role during the Inquisition’s investigations, although his physical abilities are considerably weaker than his psychic talents.
Players can recruit Saro in the current Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Closed Beta, which is available to everyone who has purchased one of the game’s Founder’s Packs. Others will need to wait until the full release of the title. A confirmed release date or even window is not known at this point, so we will just have to wait for Owlcat Games to confirm it.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is currently in development for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, along with PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
