Transport Fever 3 Introduces Curated Mods Program With Cross-Platform Support

Developer and publisher Urban Games has announced a new Curated Mods Program for Transport Fever 3, aimed at expanding mod support across PC and consoles ahead of the game’s launch later this year. The studio also confirmed that closed beta testing is ongoing, with a console-focused phase set to begin soon.

The Curated Mods Program is designed to bring a selection of developer-supported mods to the game at launch. Selected creators are given early access to development builds and work directly with the studio to produce content that will be available through an in-game mod hub. Unlike previous entries, Transport Fever 3 will support cross-platform mods, allowing players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S to access and use the same curated content from day one.

The initiative builds on the series’ established modding ecosystem, with Transport Fever 2 hosting more than 15,000 user-created mods on Steam Workshop. For the new entry, Urban Games has expanded its toolset with moddability as a core focus, enabling support for a wider range of content types, including vehicles, environments, scripted systems, save files, and localization. A group of experienced modders from the community has been working with the studio since early 2026 to prepare launch-ready content, with curated creations marked in-game for visibility and supported through financial grants.

To enable broader access on consoles, the studio has also implemented an automated mod approval system developed in collaboration with Sony and Microsoft. The system is intended to streamline moderation while allowing a larger selection of user-generated content to be distributed across platforms with fewer restrictions than typically seen on consoles.

Alongside mod development, Urban Games has been running multiple closed beta phases involving thousands of participants to gather feedback on performance and stability. The most recent PC testing round has concluded, with additional testing focused on console players scheduled as part of preparations for a simultaneous multi-platform release.

Transport Fever 3 is slated for release on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
