Tetris Royale Making It Way to Android and iOS Devices This Year

Tetris Royale

Tetris Royale is making its way to mobile devices for players after the partnership announcement between The Tetris Company and N3TWORK. The game will be the mobile version of the original Tetris 99 that was released for the Nintendo Switch.

Tetris 99 was released earlier this year on the Nintendo Switch and it became an instant hit for being a battle royal Tetris game. The function of the game was to have 99 different players compete against each other, including ways to attack opponents. Tetris Royale is going to have the same features for mobile devices.

If you are wondering how Tetris can be a battle royale game, it features the same Tetris mechanic that everyone knows about. Puzzle pieces that fall down need to be arranged to clear lines and avoid being eliminated. The battle royale in the game puts in a total of 100 players competing in a competitive mode. The goal of the match is to be the last man standing who will eventually be crowned as the winner.

The company also gives out details saying that the game will over Challenges that players can complete to earn rewards and make their way to the top of the leaderboards. It also is speculated to have a gaming season, an indication that the company is following the same trends set by Fortnite and Apex Legends with their own seasons and battle passes.

The Tetris Company and N3TWORK are developing the game for Android and iOS supporting devices. Tetris Royale will be available on the iPhone and iPad as well. According to the publishers, the game will release sometime later this year, but it is unclear what the exact release date is, and if the game would be free to download.
