New Stronghold Warlords Dev Video Details Buffalo Launching Trebuchet

Stronghold Warlords Dev Video

Firefly Studios has just released a new Stronghold Warlords dev video which shows how you can launch a diseased water buffalo as trebuchet ammo. If you think trebuchets are only good for 90kg stones or thunder crash bombs, you may be in for a surprise.

As silly as this may sound, the marketing director of the game has revealed how it plays as a strategic combat move that allows you to launch diseased animals into the enemy castle to wreak havoc inside.

Check out the new Stronghold Warlords dev video trailer below:

Nick Tannahill, marketing director at Firefly Studios had this to say,

Our trebuchets can be loaded up with either pigs or water buffalo. This may sound silly, but spreading disease throughout an enemy castle can mean certain doom for soldiers and peasants alike! Just remember it takes longer to load up a water buffalo, so think of the pig as your rapid fire option.

Stronghold Warlords is the first game in the strategy series that will also introduce gunpowder siege weapons. This comes in the form of thunder crash bombs, fearsome mortar, hwacha fire arrow cart, and more. Each of these weapons can be used in different ways to cripple and eventually conquer rival players.

The weapons will spread fire across enemy farmlands when you catapult bombs over their walls. Additionally, you can blow apart defenses with massive cannonballs or breach their castle walls with ancient rocket launchers. Castle defenses also benefit from the addition of gunpowder with mounted hwacha able to mow down lightly armored enemy infantry before they can approach your walls.
