Sega Confirms New Yakuza Game for PS4 Starring Ichiban Kasuga

Sega has announced that the new entry in the series of Yakuza will be coming on the PlayStation 4 and will star the protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. The game is without a title and a release date has not been confirmed as of yet.

Sega is also launching auditions for a supporting actress for the latest Yakuza game. it is accepting applications from actresses from ages 20 and over to play the role of the protagonist’s partner. The chosen actor will get to perform in the game, as well as participle in the various promotional activities, and receive one million yen prize.

While the audition of this sort is not the first, it will be hosted in three stages from May to early June, while the announcement of the four winners to be coming in July 2019. The timeline suggest that the game can be released this year, and a possible winter release this December would be traditional of the Yakuza games.

Meanwhile Yakuza 5 is also coming to the PlayStation 4, as a trailer of the gameplay was announced recently. The trailer features Kiryu and the gang with a lot of gameplay. With its launch, this will complete the collection of the games on Sony’s console platform.

The game is set to release on 20 June, 2019. However, the announcement has been only for Japanese players, while no other confirmation for a western release has been made as of yet. If the game does launch for players in America and Europe, it might follow with a release sometime after 20 June.

The game is a remaster of Yakuza 5 and will run at 1080p and 60fps, while its contents remain the same as they were originally on the PlayStation 3. The game was released in Japan in 2012, while coming three years later in 2015 for the western players.
