Radeon RX 6800 XT Faster than RTX 3080 at 4K According to New Leaks

Some new performance benchmark leaks for AMD’s Radeon RX 6800 XT have surfaced online and according to them, the RX 6800 XT is faster than the RTX 3080 at 4K. Alleged performance benchmarks numbers for the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT “Big Navi” graphics card come from an AMD AIB partner who has mentioned that these are early engineering board numbers and that these may even improve further once the card gets launched.

In the leaked benchmarks, the RX 6800 XT allegedly destroys the GeForce RTX 3080 at 4K Raster but loose outs in Ray Tracing. The benchmarks of the RX 6800 XT include 3DMark Firestrike Ultra at 4K, Time Spy Extreme at 4K, and Port Royal Default also at 4K. In the leak, the AMD RX 6800 XT has been referred to as ‘E438’ and was compared with the GeForce RTX 3080 and the GeForce RTX 2080Ti.

In the benchmarks, the RX 6800 XT scored 12,781 points in 3DMark Firestrike Ultra at 4K resolution, the GeForce RTX 3080 managed 10,531 points while the GeForce RTX 2080Ti scored 8,210 points. The RX 6800 XT is 22% faster than the RTX 3080 and 56% faster than the GeForce RTX 2080Ti according to these benchmarks.

In 3DMark TimeSpy Extreme at 4K resolution, the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT got a score of 8,230 points. The GeForce RTX 3080 used for comparison scored 7,978 points while the GeForce RTX 2080Ti scored 6,933 points. According to this benchmark, the Radeon RX 6800 XT seems to be around 3% faster than the RTX 3080 and 19% faster than the RTX 2080Ti in TimeSpy.

In the 3DMark Port Royal at 4K resolution, the Radeon RX 6800 XT scored 4387 points here while the RTX 3080 and RTX 2080Ti scored 5351 and 4241 points, respectively. In this benchmark, the RTX 3080 managed to get a 22% lead over the Radeon RX 6800 XT, but the AMD card did manage to deliver slightly better performance than the RTX 2080Ti.

AMD will officially be unveiling its RX 6000 series graphics card family on October 28th. We will have to wait and see how the RX 6000 series cards stack against NVIDIA’s 3000 series.
