Rocket League Crosses 50 Mil Users Worldwide – New Hot Wheels DLC Coming Next Week

Rocket League may not be the trending game right now as it once was, but when it was first launched back in 2015, it got its fair share in the spotlight over the past number of years. The community however, has grown more and more thanks to the release of the game on multiple platforms, namely; Playstation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Pc, Mac and Linux.

Rocket League just crossed 50 million worldwide players as confirmed in a tweet by the developer of the game; Psyonix. This places the game in the list of some of the best-selling games over the years including Mario.

Additionally, Psyonix also confirmed this week that a new Hot Wheels DLC is also coming out on September 24 for $5.99. The DLC is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the toy car company; Hot Wheels. Check out the trailer below.

The Hot Wheels Triple Threat DLC Pack includes three new battle cars and a variety of creature themed Toppers. The contents of the DLC Pack are:

  • Three Premium Battle-Cars: Gazella GT™, MR11, and Fast 4WD
  • Four unique decals for each of the premium Battle-Cars
  • Gorilla, Snake, and Spider Toppers

In addition to the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hot Wheels, there will also be a new Hot Wheel themed arena and customization items added to the game for free. The free contents that will available to all players are:

  • New Hot Wheels® Rivals Arena
  • Hot Wheels® 50th Anniversary-themed customization items

Meanwhile, Hot Wheel at their end will be launching its 5 pack of physical diecast Rocket League cars. The pack includes the following cars:

  • Gazella GT
  • MR11
  • Fast 4WD
  • Bone Shaker
  • Twin Mill III

The pack of cars will also come with a code which will unlock the exclusive Hot Wheels DLC Pack in the game.
