Developer and publisher Studio Cima has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming hand-drawn psychological platformer, The Perfect Pencil. Showcased on Nintendo of America’s official Youtube channel, the new trailer reveals that The Perfect Pencil is set to arrive in Spring 2025 on Steam and Nintendo Switch. This story-driven action platformer invites you to navigate the deepest recesses of the human mind, encountering surreal worlds filled with enigmatic secrets, intense boss battles, and peculiar personalities.
The Perfect Pencil revolves around the journey of the protagonist John, who awakens in a strange, hand-drawn kingdom that symbolizes his inner psyche. As you accompany John through this surreal landscape, you will face the psychological weight of fear and personal development. The game challenges you to explore John’s mind and confront the terrors lurking within, using his unique ability to perceive what others cannot.

This distinctive “analysis ability” allows John to uncover hidden information about the game’s characters, objects, and environments. You are encouraged to stray from the main path to explore the world’s rich lore and uncover secrets that could alter your understanding of the game’s narrative and perhaps even your perspective on life.
