Bully is a franchise that is near and dear to our hearts. If you are a 90s kid then chances are that you played the game growing up. Recently we heard rumors that Bully 2 is in development. A writer at Polygon has recently tried to troll people about the release of Bully 2.
Rockstar has never confirmed that the game is in development but we do know that the developer was at some point interested in making the game but got busy making Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto content.
In an article titled ‘Bully fans think they’ve found secret news of a sequel’ where Polygon talked about the recent sequel tease in GTA Online. The writer of the article, Owen S. Good left a potential release window for Bully 2 in the URL as a joke. People took it seriously and soon things got a bit out of hand. You can check out the URL below:
You can see why this would get hopes up. The writer later confirmed that this was indeed a joke. Here is what he had to say regarding the matter:
Well, I am dining on one tasty plate of crow right now. That was a joke/troll URL. Yes, it was a dumb idea. I was the only one involved in its creation (i.e. nobody else here laughed and said go for it). We’re changing it. Oh hell yeah I regret this. Not worth it and won’t do it again.
Since then the URL has been changed and Polygon has confirmed that this was indeed a troll. The publisher wrote the following in an update:
Our original joke URL for this post has been changed. Sorry if that got your hopes up.
This trolling incident has upset some Bully fans who were expecting Bully 2 to be released sometime soon. Let us know what you think about Polygon trolling people about the release of Bully 2 and whether or not this post got your hopes up.
