Prank Simulator Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge Launches on PC, Switch and Mobile Next Week

Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge

Indie developer and publisher PATRONES & ESCONDITES has announced that its brand-new prank simulator Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge is coming out next week. The game features an unconventional and humorous approach to dealing with bullying. This new prank simulator is set to launch on September 26 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, inviting you into the world of playful mischief and unexpected moral dilemmas.

The game centers around a 15-year-old protagonist who finds themselves the target of relentless harassment from the school’s resident bully—a popular but mean-spirited girl aptly dubbed “the Witch.” After enduring months of torment, the player decides it’s time to fight back in the most unexpected way possible: by using pineapples. Armed with this unusual weapon of choice, you set out on a mission to strategically place pineapples in the bully’s most personal spaces, orchestrating a series of clever pranks meant to teach her a lesson she won’t soon forget. But, as the story unfolds, it becomes clear that she won’t be the only one surprised by the outcome.

Inspired by a Reddit post(seriously), Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge offers a fresh take on the age-old issue of bullying by blending humor with hand-drawn art to create an engaging yet thought-provoking narrative. It invites you to tackle various challenges that require creativity and quick thinking as they devise pranks to outsmart the bully. While the game leans heavily into comedic territory, it also subtly explores the complexities of bullying, using humor as a vehicle to tell a darker story beneath the surface.

The game has an intentionally short playtime of around 90 minutes, designed to ensure that you can complete the journey and experience its impactful conclusion. Rather than focusing on complex puzzles, the challenges are light-hearted and interactive, making the gameplay accessible and enjoyable for a broad audience. As you progress, they accumulate mysterious points, known as SN, which add an intriguing layer of curiosity. These points reveal their true meaning only at the game’s twist ending, delivering a surprising and reflective message.

The game’s art style, reminiscent of the doodles one might find in the margins of a school notebook, is the creation of artist David Octane, whose work captures the quirky, irreverent spirit of the game. Complementing the visuals is a soundtrack that culminates in a final song, acting as a kind of moral compass and providing an original way to deliver the game’s message.

Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge is slated for release on September 26, 2024, on mobile devices, and PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch. If you are interested in playing it when it comes out, you can head over to its official Steam page and add it to your wishlist.
