Nvidia is going to announce the RTX 2080 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2060 SUPER graphics cards on July 2nd. The Founder’s Edition models are being sent to publications for review and reviews should be live next week.
The custom graphics card reviews will follow soon after, around July 9th. It is worth mentioning that even though the Nvidia RTX 2080 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2060 SUPER graphics cards are going to be announced on July 2nd, only the last two will be available.
The RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2060 SUPER will be available for purchase on July 9th. There is no release date for the RTX 2080 SUPER right now. We also do not know about the pricing of these graphics cards. We do have some specs as follows:
Nvidia Official Performance Claims |
|||
RTX 2080 SUPER | 11+11 TOPs* / 89 Tensor TFLOPs | “Faster than Titan Xp” | |
RTX 2070 SUPER | 9+9 TOPs* / 73 Tensor TFLOPs | “Faster thanGTX 1080 Ti” | 16% AVG faster than RTX 2070 |
RTX 2060 SUPER | 7+7 TOPs* / 57 Tensor TFLOPs | “Faster thanGTX 1080” | 15% AVG faster than RTX 2060 |
While the design is pretty much the same as compared the non-Super models, the Black shroud on which the logo sits is now Silver instead. These cards might not offer a huge leap in performance as compared to the non-Super models but we still need to see the performance and know about the price before we can talk about whether or not they are worth buying.
These cards have taken us by surprise. I do not think anyone was expecting Nvidia to refresh its lineup any time soon. This could be a response to AMD Navi but Nvidia already have the upper hand. It is unlikely that AMD is going to release a Navi GPU that will dethrone the RTX 2080 Ti.
Let us know what you think about the Nvidia RTX Super graphics cards and whether or not you are interested in buying one.
