Drakong Announces The Challenger, a Premium Xbox and PC Controller, Launching July 9

Drakong The Challenger

Drakong, a new gaming hardware brand from Hyperkin, has announced its debut product: The Challenger, an officially licensed controller for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PC. The controller is expected to begin shipping from July 9, priced at $34.99.

Drakong is positioning itself as a brand built around premium features at accessible price points, and The Challenger is designed to make that case from the outset. The headline feature is a pair of Hall-effect switches on both thumbsticks, which use magnetic sensors rather than physical contacts to eliminate the stick drift that plagues many controllers in this price range. Twin programmable back buttons let players assign actions to the rear of the controller, keeping thumbs on the sticks during fast-paced play.

Comfort has been a clear focus in the design. The handles and triggers feature laser-textured grips to resist moisture during long sessions, and the ABXY buttons use a durable membrane design built to hold up under repeated heavy use. Impulse triggers provide localized vibration and tactical feedback directly to the fingers without affecting the controller shell, making it particularly useful for shooters. A 10ft detachable USB-C cable makes the controller a viable option for tournament play, and a 3.5mm headphone jack rounds out the feature set with broad headset compatibility.

Drakong Lead Product Developer Slade Dude Suzuki noted that parent company Hyperkin introduced The Competitor to Xbox and PC players last year and called The Challenger a natural follow-up, one that aims to offer “premium features and comfort at a price point everyone can afford” without compromising on precision.

The Challenger begins shipping on July 9. Pre-orders for the controller are now live on Amazon. For additional details, you can check out the official website.
