Developer and publisher Eleventh Hour Games has announced the launch date of Last Epoch Season 2, called Tombs of the Erased. Last Epoch: Tombs of the Erased is slated for release on April 2, 2025. This highly anticipated update, the largest since the game’s release, introduces a new Faction, significant class improvements, enhanced endgame content, and numerous quality-of-life upgrades. With a new trailer and fresh details revealed, you can expect a deeper and more dynamic experience in the popular time-travel-themed action RPG.
Probably the most exciting addition in Season 2 is the introduction of the Weaver Faction, which was previously only hinted at through in-game items. This mysterious group now plays a central role, offering new mechanics through the Weaver Faction Tree. You can manipulate and augment the Monolith of Fate timelines during endgame progression, providing more strategic depth. Regardless of their existing factional alignment, all players can engage with this new system. The update also introduces Woven Echoes, a new echo type that reveals more about Weaver’s mysterious plans while offering unique rewards.

A major change in Tombs of the Erased is the new Mastery Re-specialization feature. Previously, you were locked into their chosen Mastery Specialization after reaching Level 20, making it a permanent decision. Responding to community feedback, Eleventh Hour Games now allows you to switch their specialization by interacting with an in-game NPC, removing the need to start over with a new character. This significant change reflects the studio’s ongoing commitment to making Last Epoch more accessible while respecting your time and investment.
Further addressing player feedback, Season 2 includes a comprehensive overhaul of the Sentinel class. The rework enhances the Sentinel’s mobility, defensive abilities, and Passive Trees, bringing it in line with the other four classes. These adjustments not only improve the Sentinel’s versatility but also contribute to a more balanced overall gameplay experience.
In addition to these core changes, Tombs of the Erased expands the game’s endgame content with new Champion Enemies and Champion Affixes. These powerful enemies are faster and more dangerous, with the potential to drop gear featuring exclusive affixes. You will also explore new environments, including cemeteries and tombs, and face new endgame bosses, such as the fearsome Uber Aberroth Variant.
The update also brings a host of quality-of-life improvements. You will benefit from a new inventory tab system, WASD movement support in beta, and dungeon improvements. One notable addition is dungeon key charms, which allow you to skip directly to a dungeon boss if they have already completed the dungeon once. These changes aim to streamline and enhance the player experience across all aspects of the game.
To celebrate the new season, Eleventh Hour Games will launch a Twitch Drop campaign and Support a Creator initiative. You can earn up to five exclusive rewards by watching participating streamers play Last Epoch. An additional sixth reward, a unique cosmetic item, will be available to those who subscribe or gift a subscription to their favorite creators.
Last Epoch: Tombs of the Erased will be a free upgrade for those who own Season 1. With over two million copies sold, the game is available in three editions: the Standard Edition for $34.99, the Deluxe Edition for $49.99, and the Ultimate Edition for $64.99. You can support the game’s ongoing development by purchasing Supporter Packs, ranging from $19.99 to $49.99. A new Woven Supporter Pack series will launch alongside Season 2, starting at $9.99. Last Epoch Season 2: Tombs of the Erased is slated for release on April 2, 2025, on PC via Steam.
