Indie development studio Eleventh Hour Games has announced the official launch of Season 2, Tombs of the Erased, for Last Epoch. Last Epoch is a time-traveling Action-RPG, and its Season 2 brings tons of new content for players to explore for free. Tombs of the Erased is the largest content update to arrive in Last Epoch so far, and it introduced tons of new systems, gameplay overhauls, and improvements based on community feedback.
The developer shared a Patch Overview Trailer for Last Epoch: Tombs of the Erased a little while ago, which we have linked below for you:
Probably the most major addition is the brand-new faction added to the game called the Weaver Faction. You will now have access to the new Weaver Faction Tree, from which you can unlock the ability to influence monolith timelines and enhance the endgame progression. The update also adds Woven Echoes, a new type of Echo, which will unlock unique rewards and provide deeper lore. After listening to fans, the developer has also removed the restrictions on Mastery Specialization.
With it gone, no more permanent restrictions remain in the game. You can now change your chosen Mastery by visiting an NPC, hence eliminating the need to start a new character to pursue a different Mastery. The Sentinel class has also received a major overhaul in the new update, and it now features more modernized skill trees. The new skill trees will offer enhanced mobility and defense options, bringing their capabilities in line with other classes for a more balanced and dynamic playstyle.
If you have completed the main story and are currently exploring endgame content, you are in for a treat because the new Season also overhauls the endgame content. The update adds Champion Enemies with powerful new affixes, haunting new zones like ancient tombs and eerie cemeteries, and intense boss battles, including the Uber variant of Aberroth. Naturally, the Season also comes with a hefty update, which brings a multitude of Quality-of-Life improvements. A few major highlights include:
- A new inventory tab system
- WASD movement support (beta)
- Dungeon key charms that allow skipping directly to bosses
- Crafting enhancements and streamlined endgame mechanics
Last Epoch is currently available on PC via Steam, and since its launch last year, it has managed to sell over two and a half million copies to date. It is evolving further with community feedback as the developers are adding new content to the game based on the feedback. If you own Season 1, you will receive Tombs of the Erased for free. Last Epoch is available in a Standard Edition ($34.99), a Deluxe Edition ($49.99), and the Ultimate Edition ($64.99). Further development of Last Epoch is based on support through paid cosmetic items in the form of Supporter Packs, and the new Woven Supporter Pack is now available for purchase as well.
