This Subnautica 2 guide details how you can craft the Mild Acid, which is needed to unlock the Processor. Mild Acid is one of the important crafting materials you will need fairly early in Subnautica 2. It is used in different recipes, and the materials required to craft it are not difficult to collect once you know where to look.
Mild Acid Guide – Subnautica 2
To craft Mild Acid, you need one Copper and two Acidic Rayon Pouches. Copper is usually the easier material to find since it commonly appears in the underwater world.
The Acidic Rayon Pouches are the part that can confuse new players because they blend into the environment if you do not know what they look like.
Where to Find Acidic Rayon Pouches
While exploring the map, keep an eye out for strange purple plant-like growths attached to surfaces underwater. These are the plants that contain the Acidic Rayon Pouches you need.
You cannot grab the pouches normally, so make sure you have your Multi-Tool equipped before trying to collect them. Once you interact with the plant, you can harvest the pouch directly from the side.
One useful thing about these plants is that the pouches eventually grow back. This means you can return to the same location later instead of constantly searching for new plants across the map.
Acidic Rayon Farming Locations
There are a few simple spots near the starting area where you can gather these pouches without traveling too far. One location can be found south of the life pod, making it a convenient place to visit early in the game.
Another good spot is hidden beneath the life pod itself. If you head down through the hole below the pod, you should find another plant growing there with extra pouches ready to collect.
Where to Find the Copper
Copper is mostly found in rocky sections underwater. Caves, stone-covered tunnels, and arch-shaped rock formations are good places to search.
Crafting the Mild Acid
After gathering everything, head back to your Fabricator and open the Basic Materials section. From there, select Mild Acid and craft it using the materials you collected. Once completed, you will have Mild Acid ready for future crafting recipes and base equipment.
