This Fatekeeper Guide shows how you can activate the portal back to the lodge at the beginning of the game. During the early stages of Fatekeeper, you may reach a point where the game asks you to open the portal back to the lodge but does not tell you how exactly to do so. However, many players get confused because the tutorial only mentions pressing the spell key, while their character is still using a different ability.
Activating the Portal Back to the Lodge in Fatekeeper
When you first arrive at this part of the game, pressing the spell-casting key, which is Q, may still launch a Fireball or some other spell instead of the correct one. This can make it seem like the tutorial is missing an important step.
To switch abilities, open your controls if needed and look for the option called “Switch Spell.” By default, this action is assigned to the X key. Pressing it will cycle through the spells you currently have available. As you switch between them, the icon in the lower-left corner of the screen will change to show which spell is active.
Keep cycling through the available spells until you find the one represented by a purple hand icon. This is the telekinesis ability that you need for this objective.
Restoring Mana if Necessary
If you try to use the spell and discover that you don’t have enough mana, there is a simple solution nearby. Stand in the magical pool located in the area and wait for your mana to refill. Once your resource bar has recovered, you will be able to cast the spell without any issues.
Activating the Portal
After selecting telekinesis and restoring your mana, look toward the sigil positioned above the portal mechanism. Aim directly at it and use the spell key, which is Q, to channel Telekinesis. Hold the ability briefly and then release it.
The sigil will react, activating the portal and opening the way forward. Once the portal is active, you can continue with the next part of your adventure.
