Galax GTX 1660 Ti

The GTX 1660 Ti and the 1660 have been rumored an leaked for a while not but now we have the images of the Galax GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB. This is a custom card and will come with a better cooler as compared to the reference design so you can expect to see some decent performance and higher clock speeds as compared to the reference design.

The box confirms that the Galax GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB is indeed based on the Nvidia Turing architecture but we do not know if the card comes with any Tensor cores or not. Keeping in mind that this is a GTX series card and not a member of the RTX family, it is more than likely that the card does not have Tensor cores and that it won’t offer real-time ray tracing support.

We are not sure if the card supports DLSS technology. Until we have official news from Nvidia it is hard to say. It is worth noting that if the custom versions are ready then the Galax GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB and the reference design models could be announced in the upcoming few weeks or so.

While there is little that we know about the Nvidia GTX 1160 Ti, it seems that team Green is going with “get game ready with GTX” as the slogan for this series of cards which is much better than “RTX on”. That is what I think and you could feel differently about the matter.

On the box of the Galax GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB we see that the card comes with 1-click overclocking support. Keeping in mind that this is a mid-range graphics card it will be interesting to see how far you can push the frequency with the Xtreme Tuner software. The Galax GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB should also be cheaper than the RTX 2060 and will have to compete with the RX 580 and RX 590 and this means that the card should cost around $270.

This is speculation and the official pricing is yet to be confirmed so do take this with a grain of salt. It is worth mentioning that the RTX 2060 was released at a higher price compared to the GTX 1060 and we could see something similar when the GTX 1660 Ti is released.

RTX mobile graphics cards are out now and you can learn about their specifications and performance compared to Pascal cards.
