A new Creepshow game is heading to Steam this August, drawing on the tone of both the original cult horror film and the Shudder series by Greg Nicotero. The game leans fully into the franchise’s signature mix of gore, dark humor, and comic-book horror styling. The game is being developed by PHL Collective, while DreadXP will be managing the publishing in collaboration with AMC.
Structurally, the game is built around a collection of self-contained horror stories, each playing out like its own standalone episode in the spirit of the original anthology format. The main storyline follows Danny and his friends after what starts as an ordinary day at the mall spirals into something far worse.
Their attempt to uncover what really happened to Danny’s father pulls them deeper into a web of unsettling secrets, eventually leading Danny to a mysterious fortune-teller known as The Reader, who has a particular fondness for dangerous stories. Alongside this central narrative, the game will feature two additional self-contained stories as well.
Visually, the game features a stylized, pulp comic-book aesthetic, paired with horror mini-games woven throughout each story. The tone stays close to Creepshow’s roots, which is campy without losing its edge and is more interested in having fun with horror than relying on cheap scares. Players can expect twisted endings that will catch them off guard, in keeping with the franchise’s love of dark, ironic conclusions.
The game aims at bringing back the classic horror era when cheap paperbacks and comic books offered vintage pulp horror. Additional details about the game will be revealed later, leading up to its launch.
Creepshow launches on PC via Steam in August 2026. Players interested in this unique point-and-click horror game can head over to its official Steam page and add it to their wishlist.
