Developer AREA 35, Inc. and publisher AREA 34, Inc. have announced that Go Shiina, the acclaimed composer behind the music for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, will compose the score for TINY METAL 2, the next entry in its turn-based tactical strategy series.

Shiina joined NAMCO, now BANDAI NAMCO, in 1997, working on the Tales, Mr. Driller, and Tekken series before going solo with Tales of Legendia and later contributing to the Ace Combat series. He left BANDAI NAMCO in 2017 to become a freelance composer and has since built an international reputation through his work on Demon Slayer, which earned him Best Score at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.

For TINY METAL 2, Shiina has composed a score built around full orchestral recordings, aimed at adding emotional weight to the game’s storylines and battles.

AREA 35’s CEO Hiroaki Yura described Shiina as “one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with,” explaining that the two had been discussing a future collaboration when he asked Shiina to contribute to the project. Yura said he wanted the music to capture characters finding the strength to push back against situations that feel hopeless or predetermined, adding that he felt Shiina was “uniquely suited to express that” sense of determination through his compositions.

TINY METAL 2 continues the series’ tactical, grid-based combat, bringing back fan-favourite characters alongside a new roster of commanders and modes. The game introduces naval combat in the series, with submarines and battleships joining land and air units in the fight. As commander, players manage production, resource capture, and timing across all three fronts to outmaneuver rival factions.

TINY METAL 2 is slated for a PC Steam launch in Spring of 2027, along with additional platforms, which will be revealed at a later stage. Players interested in the game can now add it to their PC Steam wishlist, and also apply to participate in a closed playtest currently live through its official page.
