Commandos: Origins Release Date Set for April 2025, Deluxe Edition Revealed

Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios have officially announced the release date for their upcoming title Commandos: Origins. Commandos: Origins will launch digitally on April 9, 2025, for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The latest entry in the iconic real-time stealth tactics series will be priced at $49.99 for PC and $59.99 for consoles.

Jürgen Reusswig, Studio Director at Claymore Game Studios, expressed excitement about the release, referencing the famous phrase of the Green Beret character: “Consider it done.” He highlighted the game’s long development process, which included extensive design work, playtesting, and community feedback. Now, after more than four years, Commandos: Origins is ready to bring you back to the roots of the legendary franchise.

For those looking for an enhanced experience, a Deluxe Edition will be available, featuring exclusive content, including six classic Commando skins inspired by Commandos 2, a 3D printing template for the Green Beret, a digital calendar, and a symphonic soundtrack with 15 tracks.

Retail editions for all platforms will arrive on May 22, 2025, including all Deluxe Edition content. Additionally, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be released later in the year, with Xbox Smart Delivery ensuring cross-generation access.

The game will immerse you in a strategic, real-time tactical stealth experience, where mastering the distinct abilities of an elite squad will be crucial. The six-member team includes Jack O’Hara, known as the Green Beret, along with Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock, Francis T. “the Sniper” Woolridge, Samuel “the Driver” Brooklyn, James “the Marine” Blackwood, and Rene “the Spy” Duchamp. Each character brings unique skills essential for infiltration, sabotage, and completing high-risk missions.

You will navigate diverse, historically inspired World War II environments, from the icy Arctic to the scorching African desert. Missions will offer multiple paths to success, requiring strategic planning, stealth, and adaptability. Vehicles, vertical navigation, and interactive elements will provide a range of tactical options.

A modernized control system ensures precise execution of complex maneuvers, allowing you to coordinate actions seamlessly. For those who prefer teamwork, Commandos: Origins will also include a two-player cooperative mode, playable online or via local split-screen.

Commandos: Origins is slated for release on April 9, 2025, on PC via Steam, and Xbox Series X|S and PS5. The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will arrive later this year.
