New Hero Baptiste is Going Live in Overwatch on all Platforms Next Week

Baptiste Overwatch Live

Baptiste is the newest hero coming in Overwatch and Blizzard has announced that the new hero will go live in Overwatch next week across all platforms. Baptiste is a Combat Medic and he will be the 30th hero in Overwatch once he is part of the roster.

Baptiste was announced at the end of last month when Blizzard officially announced him. He was teased earlier as well and thanks to some data leaks, we got to know a little bit earlier about a new hero coming to Overwatch. In the official release trailer, we got to know a little bit of Baptiste’s history as well.

Baptiste is from Haiti and he was left as an orphan as a result of the Omnic Wars. Because of this, he had to steal or starve and kill or be killed. He came from a very rough childhood and he ultimately joined Talon which is the bad guy faction of Overwatch. He spent some time with Talon but later he could not work as an evil killer so he abandoned Talon.

After he abandoned Talon, the organization did not take his leaving very kindly and sent multiple kill squads after him and none of them survived their encounter with Baptiste. Talon is still after Baptiste but now he is joining the roster of Overwatch as a new hero. His main role in Overwatch will be a Combat Medic.

His main weapon of choice is a three-round SMG which comes with the alternate fire mode which fires healing grenades for your teammates. He can also heal himself and his allies with his active ability Regenerative Burst. His second ability is Immortality Field which is a shield barrier and all teammates inside this barrier cannot die and their health does not fall below 40.

His ultimate ability is Amplification Matrix which increases Baptiste’s damage output and healing effects for all friendly projectiles. He is one of the best medics in the game and his weapon is also very effective in both offense and healing at the same time. If you want to try Baptiste right now, you can head over to Overwatch PTR and try him out right now.

Baptiste is arriving in Overwatch on March 19, 2019 free for all Overwatch players.
