GungHo Online Entertainment America has revealed its full lineup for Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, with the standout being the first public hands-on demo for Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet. Attendees can try the game at West Hall booth #2316, ahead of its exclusive launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
The sequel marks a significant shift for the series, moving away from the original’s fast-paced PvP format into a co-op open-world action game. Players explore a nature-rich world built around the series’ signature Ninja Gum Action combat, now expanded with weapon attributes, item crafting, and a cooking system that feeds into quests players can tackle in any order. The game supports solo play or co-op for up to four players, including dungeon runs and boss fights against colossal enemies.
Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet Brings its First-Ever Playable Demo to Anime Expo 2026
The Anime Expo demo offers two playable courses. A Planetary Exploration Course focuses on combat, while a Photography Course lets players take a more relaxed approach and explore the world’s sights. Everyone who plays either course will walk away with an inflatable bat modelled after the game’s IPPON Katana.
Beyond the demo, GungHo’s booth includes a prize giveaway running throughout the event. Attendees can enter by following GungHo on social media or completing select in-booth tasks, with prizes including a Nintendo Switch 2 console, a Pro Controller and merchandise bundle paired with a choice of game between Ninjala 2, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, LUNAR Remastered Collection, or GRANDIA HD Collection, as well as Nintendo eShop gift cards and a set of nine Ninjala 2 button pin designs.
