PAX East Sets Eyes on 2027 As 2026 Edition Draws Massive Crowds to Boston

PAX East 2026 officially concluded, and at its end, the organizers ReedPop and Penny Arcade announced the dates for PAX East 2027. Pax will return in 2027 from April 22-25, 2027. PAX East is one of the biggest gaming conventions, which takes place every year in Boston, and the 2026 edition just concluded, drawing in massive crowds from all over the world.

PAX takes place in two separate editions to cover the entirety of the United States, giving fans a chance to meet and experience their favourite franchises spanning across the entertainment industry, including anime, video games, and movies. PAX East takes place in Boston, MA, during the first half of the year, while PAX West takes place in Seattle, WA. Two additional events, PAX Aus and PAX Unplugged, a tabletop games exclusive event, also take place in Melbourne and Philadelphia, respectively, but they are much smaller in scale compared to the two main events.

PAX East Announces Dates and Venue for 2027 Edition

PAX East 2027 will return to the Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center April 22 – 25, 2027. The four-day event will bring together fans from the West Coast as well as all over the USA and the world once again. Its most recent hosting concluded this past weekend and attracted more than a hundred thousand fans physically and even more who tuned in virtually through the event’s online platforms such as Twitch, Steam, YouTube, and others.

Some of the key highlights from the 2026 edition include hands-on demos for titles like Nintendo’s Pokopia and Pokemon Champions. Games industry veteran Xalavier Nelson Jr. took to the stage for a Storytime Keynote, while a star-studded panel for IllFonic’s Halloween, including film director John Carpenter, stole the show as well. Fans also experienced the World Premiere of the co-op fantasy RPG Wyldheart.

The event took place inside a massive expo hall filled with gaming industry titans, indie developers, tabletop freeplay areas, and high-stakes gaming tournaments where players won cash prizes. Following the packed day of demos, attendees were treated to panel discussions, community meetups, cosplay contests, and live concerts. Jerry Holkins, co-founder of PAX, Penny Arcade, and Child’s Play, commented:

PAX East is always the Grand Opening for a year of shows, and we’re taking that momentum with us. We’re always thinking about the future.
